Bangour Trout Fishery | Opening Day 28/3/15.
A message from Bangour Trout Fishery’s Facebook page.
What can i say, i have been bombarded with news of the latest rumour in the fishing world, i have a large hole in the dam wall that is going to cost £250,000 to repair, the reservoir is drained and i have gone bust and will not be opening this season. To set the record straight, the dam past its annual dam inspection in December with flying colours, the inspecting engineers were over the moon to see the way Bangour has developed, no notes of interest, points of caution, recommendations whatsoever on the report!!!!!
As the haters will see from a picture taken this evening, the water level is brim full, all the maintenance work has been completed for the year, forthcoming bookings are up on last year and we are looking forward to opening on Saturday the 28th of march, on which day we are actually fully booked.
Where do these goddamn gossip mongers get their information, i have always been up front in everything i have done with the fishery and immediately shared news both good and bad, when it has occurred. In the past 4 years i have had MS, a brain tumour, leukemia, complete fish kills, total weed takeover and now this, i must be one lucky dude to have survived!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another Brown trout season has come and gone and once again they have given us fantastic sport not to mention the occasional feast fit for a king. As we continue to fish throughout the winter we will no doubt accidentally hook one or two, please show these wonderful fish the ultimate respect and make sure they are fully recovered before returning them so they can spawn and help replenish their stocks for the future.
